Importance of Longitudinal Data

The National Center for Educational Achievement firmly believes an accurate grasp of the current situation in American public schools is only possible with the use of longitudinal data. Data tracking students from elementary to college gives research the opportunity to analyze trends in education, both good and bad. Only by growing the type of data collected over time, will Policymakers ever be presented with an opportunity to intervene in American public schools in a timely fashion.
